Shopping at Le Tom

Customer help

Are your Duralex glasses the genuine original vintage pattern?

Yes. They are all the original classic designs made by Duralex International France. The term 'vintage' can be a little misleading. The vintage pattern is one and the same pattern that is still manufactured today by Duralex.

There is another style of glass, referred to as Picardie Bar (Stacking), that was introduced by Duralex when the company was owned by Bormioli Rocco (1997-2004). That is a nondescript modern design and is not carried by Le Tom.

Can you supply models or other sizes not shown on your website?

Le Tom carries all the Duralex ranges currently being imported into the UK, and in most sizes but not all. If you absolutely require a particular size not illustrated, please get in touch. It is sometimes possible to order other sizes.

Do you ship to the United States?

Yes. The online shopping cart offers shipping to the USA by Royal Mail Airmail. The Royal Mail charges on a price per box basis and whilst it's the best option for a single box, FedEx Air Express can be more economical for several items.

FedEx charges by weight, on a sliding scale that becomes increasingly better value as the consignment weight increases. There are too many order permutations and price bands to include in the shopping cart. If you would like a quotation by email for shipping by FedEx, feel free to use the contact page, stating the model(s) and quantity required. A quotation will be emailed to you as soon as possible.

Once you have received the quotation, if you will respond that you would like to place an order, a PayPal invoice will be sent to you by email, which can be paid online via PayPal (a PayPal account is not required).

I don't need Express Delivery. Is there cheaper delivery to the USA?

The shipping rates offered by Le Tom are as economical as possible, and are charged at cost. There is no price advantage in shipping by boat. It's also worth bearing in mind that Duralex products are solidly constructed in toughened glass, which tends to make them more weighty than normal glass.

Who is your Duralex distributor in the USA (or Australia, NZ, etc)?

Le Tom is a UK-based retailer and does not have Duralex distributors in other countries, but does ship to many international destinations. Please note also that Le Tom is not a manufacturer. The manufacturer of Duralex products is Duralex International France located in La Chapelle Saint-Mesmin near Orléans, France.

What happens if my order is damaged in transit?

Every effort is made to pack glassware in such a way that transit damage does not occur, and to use carriers who treat the items they handle with respect. In the very rare event of damage to goods during transit, they will normally be replaced at no cost to the customer. Read more in the terms of sale.

The glasses I received aren't the size I wanted. Can I return them?

Yes. Le Tom will be happy to refund the purchase price, or to send another size with the price adjustment made via PayPal. Please note that goods must first be returned in a saleable condition with the manufacturer's packaging undamaged.

It is strongly recommended that when you first unpack goods received, care is taken not to rip the manufacturer's packaging (inside the outer mailing box) as this is considered to be part of the product. Duralex products can easily be unpacked without doing so. Read more in the terms of sale.

Are the Duralex glasses absolutely brand new?

Yes. They are all absolutely brand new from the Duralex factory in France. Very occasionally, slight traces of factory residue are visible on the glasses as patches of faint milky haze left over from the production process. This is easily cleaned off. On the rare occasions when items are returned by a customer, they are auctioned on eBay and not re-sold on this website.

Do I need to be present when my order is delivered?

With shipping by Royal Mail Airmail or FedEx Air Express, yes. A signatory will be required. For UK customers, no, for any shipping method.

Can I track progress of my order online?

With shipping by Express Delivery or FedEx Air Express, yes. When making your purchase, please use PayPal to request that a tracking number be emailed to you.

Do you take credit card or debit card payments over the telephone?

No. It's in the interests of your security that your credit card or debit card payment is made via by PayPal. Le Tom never sees any credit card or debit card details, nor even whether a credit card or debit card was used to make a payment.

If you'd prefer not to pay online, a cheque or bank transfer are both acceptable (subject to acceptance of quotation). Goods will be shipped when the cheque is cleared or bank transfer verified.

Do you offer a discount for large quantities?

Subject to an agreed contract and payment by cheque or bank transfer, a degree of discount would be available. Anything over around 200 pieces is considered to be a large quantity. Please note that Le Tom is not a wholesaler and does not ship pallets to destinations outside the UK.
